New Teen Fiction
The Fledging of Az Gabrielson
By: Jay Amory
Vivid imagery and a good story make The Fledging of Az Gabrielson a great read that you will want to finish in one sitting. Using the outsider convention, Amory tells the story of the Airborne - those with wings who live above the clouds - and their ignorance of the revolutions that occur beneath them between various factions of Groundlings - those who live beneath the clouds and are considered primitive. The main character, Azrael, is an Airborn without wings, making him an anomaly, but perfect for a mission to venture down to the Ground to save the world that he does not fit into. A great mix of fantasy and science fiction that will assist teens with the transition into adult novels.

Now for something completely different…
Paradise
By: Koji Suzuki
The debut novel by the author best known for his Ring Trilogy. Not a conventional fantasy, the story is told in three parts, in three different periods of history. Begun in prehistoric times when Bogud breaks a village taboo causing him to be parted from his beloved Fayau, the story progresses to the 1800s where a small tropical island is invaded by pirates. The final segment, set in modern day America, is written in beautifully lyric prose. This segment details the fulfillment of Bugud’s promise to his wife, made thousands of years earlier, by their descendents.

Hey! This is Joshua Palmatier, author of The Skewed Throne and The Cracked Throne. I was wondering if you guys received a reader's copy of my books or not (you know, the advance copy of the book so you can read it before the book comes out and possibly review it). If not, and you'd be interested in getting one for the upcoming book The Vacant Throne, let me know. You can contact me at jpalmatier(at)sff(dot)net. I'd also be interested in anything else you might consider regarding my books, such as possible signings, a possible endcap of all of the books at your store, once the third book comes out, etc.
